Oops…I Forgot to Get Real

#1 on your to-do list...Get Real!

Yep, it’s true. I forgot to get real. To show up here like I promised I was going to.

I forgot to share my story, the whole reason I created this website and Girls Get Real.

Okay, I didn’t actually forget. I’ve thought about it… a lot.

Pretty much all day everyday.

Thinking about what I want to share with you and the best way to share it and wanting to make sure I shared it in a way that would resonate with you and that would teach you in a way that would change your lives — for the way better.

I love you even though I don’t know you, because you are me, and I’m just betting I am you. We are cut from the same cloth.

And I was concerned I wouldn’t succeed at all of these things I wanted to give you — from the bottom of my heart. Because I care so amazingly much about you, who you are, who you are becoming and how you are showing up in your life, I wanted to make sure I was doing it right. And I just wasn’t really sure how to do that.

I cared so much about sharing right that I ended up not sharing at all.

I sat over here in the background wanting to change your lives for the way better. Wanting to give you space and permission and information and strategies for creating a life that is fun and gives you a sense of freedom.

And to let you know that you get to keep having these things even when you grow up. That these things aren’t reserved only for the very young but that they have the potential to get even sweeter as we grow up and become adults.

And because I wasn’t sure if it would be right, I didn’t do anything at all. Damn.

I’m sorry.

So here’s the deal. Today is the first day — the REAL first day — of this website, Girls Get Real. And REAL we are going to get. So make sure to come back tomorrow, because I PROMISE I’ll be here. And tomorrow, I’ll tell you more about what I have planned.

In the meantime, go out today and choose at least one way to get actively, consciously, intentionally REAL in your life.

Choose…
One way to show up completely as you.
One thing that will stretch you out of your comfort zone (because you aren’t comfortable where you are either.)
One thing that reflects how much you love and honor yourself exactly where you are.

Then…
Share it in the comments or shoot me an email or whatever you want to do, but be courageous and share!

And until tomorrow…
Go have an AMAZING day, full of love and keeping it real!

Love, hugs, and truth,
Shannon

P.S. Now, I’m going to hit the Publish button, even though as I do I am already questioning if this is right. But I’m through questioning. Well, at least, I’m through letting the questioning stop me from hitting Publish. So here goes nothing. Thanks for joining me! 🙂

Hi Shannon – can’t wait to read more tomorrow! <3

Today, in order to show up completely as me, I'm going to share a similar confession: My website(s) are not where I promised myself (and others) they'd be by this point in time. I've taken a full time job for a variety of reasons, and my priorities have shifted temporarily. And I'm okay with that – finally! I know that things will play out as they are meant to play out, and as I get more clear on where I'm actually going. It's nice to remember that we're all still works in progress!

    Love & miss ya!

Hey Dana! Thanks SO much for sharing. Isn’t it nice to finally be okay with being exactly where you are? Good for you! And I’ll look forward to “seeing” you again tomorrow. 🙂 Have an amazing day and keep on keeping it real! Shannon
